Sofa Chairs- When the Wood Merchant
started building furniture back in the mid 1980's, rustic sofa chairs with
juniper log frames were one of the signature pieces. Over time, the
availability and low cost of fully upholstered, mass manufactured sofas
came into favor. The cost demanded for the one of a kind sofas like
those shown in the photos below would not allow the Wood Merchant to
remain competitive in this type of furniture.
The labor required to find and fit the juniper components is not cost effective and clients are not willing to pay a premium for such work, therefore, we no longer build the sofa style chairs, love seats or couches. The photos and descriptions below give some indication as to the size, style and relative cost of these pieces in terms of today's market. |
